This projects focuses on Instagram, which remains relevant for influencers in the travel sector despite TikTok. The artist has created an AI-based work with 160 images and 400 stories published over 80 days. The fictional "journey" is based on Jules Verne's "Around the World in 80 Days". The project thematises the falsification of content on Instagram and current beauty standards. The artist chose the locations according to the most popular Instagram spots and published the images daily at 12 noon and 8 pm local time to merge reality and fiction.
The project highlights changing ideals of beauty, such as the slim body with large breasts. It criticises the misuse of Ozempic to lose weight and shows the "slim thick" look, which is simulated using gelatine, silicone pads and foam. These exaggerations are grotesque and humorous. The photos are edited using Photoshop to create an extremely slim figure, enlarged eyes and lips and narrow faces. Teeth are bleached afterwards. The artist created the art persona "Wale Wiktoria Tournée" and the Instagram account "@every.other.traveller".
The project ran from 1 February to 21 April.
