The artist's 2021 work examines beauty standards in social media, particularly on Instagram, with a special focus on influencers and their self-presentation in the fields of beauty, fashion and lifestyle. The research shows that the current ideal of beauty on social media favours certain characteristics: a curvy, hourglass-shaped figure with a narrow waist, small nose, large lips and eyes, high cheekbones and long legs.
In reality, however, this idealised image often leads to problems with self-perception. This phenomenon is referred to as "Snapchat dysmorphophobia" and describes the desire to conform to the retouched self-image. The artist addresses this problem in her art figure Cassy Chloe, whose appearance she has adapted to the current ideal of beauty by using gelatine and silicone. Cassy Chloe acts as an influencer and tries to encourage people to think about these unrealistic standards through her presence and interaction with followers. The aim is to achieve the widest possible reach in order to raise awareness of the issue. The project has managed to turn Cassy Chloe into a micro-influencer and has even led to collaborations.
